Michael grew up on the windswept plains of Bismarck, North Dakota, and he graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in English Literature. He then attended the University of Georgia School of Law in Athens, Georgia. After obtaining his law degree cum laude, Michael had the honor to serve as chambers staff attorney for the Honorable J.L. Edmondson, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

When he’s not working, Michael enjoys spending time with his kids and friends, playing trumpet, increasing his grilling skills, and convincing himself that he is an amateur bartender. Michael also gives back by volunteering in the community, including leadership positions at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, Lakeside High School Orchestra Association, and Lakeside High School Band Association.
