Title IX

Title IX is a law originally created to provide female collegiate athletes from discrimination in sports. While it still applies in those circumstances, these days it is more likely to be invoked in sexual harassment cases. This can include teacher on student, student on student, or school employee to school employee sexual harassment. Title IX imposes strict procedural requirements on the educational institution which, if not strictly followed, can result in liability for the school and grave consequences for the individuals involved.

The lawyers at Hoffer & Webb have advised clients on both sides of Title IX disputes at the middle school, high school, and university levels. If you are accused of sexual harassment or misconduct, or have suffered harassment or discrimination either as a student or an employee of an educational institution, give us a call to discuss how we can help you
